Israel unveils initiative to allocate approximately $2 million towards marine energy innovations.

Israel’s government is set to invest NIS 6 million (around $2 million) into marine energy solutions. This initiative will focus on technologies such as wave energy generation, offshore energy systems, and AI-driven marine energy management. The partnership between Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Israel Innovation Authority aims to foster sustainable maritime development and support innovative energy technologies.

A key goal of the program is to strengthen collaboration among academia, industry, and government, facilitating the transition from research to market and encouraging partnerships that allow for the integration of Israeli technologies into global energy markets.

Eco Wave Power, which operates Israel’s only grid-connected wave energy power station at Jaffa Port, is actively participating in this initiative. Inna Braverman, CEO of Eco Wave Power, praised the launch, highlighting the importance of marine renewable energy in meeting the growing demand for clean electricity.

This initiative is expected to not only enhance Israel’s energy landscape but also promote the emergence of new innovations in Blue-Tech.
