A recent study by iSelect highlights that nearly 40% of Australian travelers are irritated by seat-kicking on flights, making it the top travel pet peeve. In their survey, 42% specifically mentioned “people/children kicking the back of your seat” as a frustration. Other common grievances included passengers using phones or playing music without headphones (35%) and resting feet on the window or armrest (34%).
iSelect spokesperson Sophie Ryan noted that while Australians enjoy traveling, in-flight behavior can significantly impact their experience, especially during the busy summer season in Europe. Interestingly, the least reported pet peeves included blocking airport travelators (15%) and allowing pets in the cabin (also 15%).
As travel picks up, iSelect advises ensuring comprehensive travel insurance coverage, declaring pre-existing health conditions, and checking entry requirements for destinations.
