Westchester County Youth Bureau Hosts Fifth Annual Invest Fest
HARTSDALE – The Westchester County Youth Bureau (WCYB) held its fifth annual Invest Fest at Ridge Road Park, an engaging day designed to showcase the “Invest in Kids” initiative. Nearly 200 young attendees participated in a variety of fun, educational, and interactive activities, including a picnic lunch and live DJ music.
Partner agencies sponsored a diverse array of lighthearted activities, such as the WJCS Affirmation Spinning Wheel, the WCA Westchester Kid’s Dreamboard, and the United Way Spatial Awareness Cup Challenge. Other popular activities included giant Jenga, cornhole, and bookmark making. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for youth to gather in a beautiful park setting, learning about the resources available to them.
The “Invest in Kids” funding supports crucial programs focused on advocacy, substance use prevention, academic assistance, college and employment readiness, healthy relationships, civic engagement, physical health, and social/emotional well-being.
County Executive Ken Jenkins remarked, “I had such a great time walking around the park and checking out the activities. The agency volunteers I spoke to have such enthusiasm and clearly love showing our kids a good time. The partner agencies we fund provide fun and meaningful programming for County youth year-round. I want to thank WCYB Executive Director Ernest McFadden and his team for making Invest Fest a resounding success.”
