Overview:
The Santa Clara County Healthy Food Incentive Grocery Project, also known as Double Up Food Bucks California, aims to make healthy food more affordable for low-income families. This initiative provides matching funds for families enrolled in the CalFresh program, allowing them to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
Key Features:
- Matching Funds: For every $10 spent on California-grown produce using CalFresh benefits, families receive an additional $10 to spend on fresh produce.
- Long-Term Goals: The initiative seeks to establish a permanently funded healthy food incentive program integrated into the CalFresh program at grocery stores and farmers’ markets across California.
