Joey Chestnut’s Caloric Intake and Additional Nutritional Details from the 2026 Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest

Joey Chestnut achieved an impressive feat at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, consuming over 17,000 calories in just 10 minutes to secure his 18th title. He ate 66 hot dogs and buns, which led him to beat the runner-up, Patrick Bertoletti, by a margin of 15 hot dogs during the Fourth of July event at Coney Island.

Chestnut’s remarkable achievement included consuming approximately 17,820 calories, along with 38,940 milligrams of sodium, 1,716 grams of carbohydrates, and 594 grams of protein. In total, he ingested 891 grams of fat, 396 grams of saturated fat, and 1,320 milligrams of cholesterol.

Despite missing the 2024 contest due to a ban related to a competing sponsorship, he returned to win again in 2025 with 70.5 hot dogs eaten. At 42 years old, Chestnut remains a top competitor, having dominated the Nathan’s contest for the last decade. He set a world record shortly before the 2026 competition, consuming 16 pounds of bologna at the Ultimate Bologna Showdown in Tennessee.
