Oklahoma has officially inaugurated a Taiwan Regional Trade Office to enhance trade and investment with Taiwan, marking a new chapter in bilateral economic relations. The office was launched during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Oklahoma State Capitol, where Governor Kevin Stitt announced its establishment.
Yvonne Hsiao, director-general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, emphasized that the office symbolizes a deeper partnership between Taiwan and Oklahoma, facilitated by Stitt’s upcoming trade delegation to Taiwan in 2024 and the support of the Oklahoma Legislature.
The office, which is located in Taipei, was established under a bill passed by the Oklahoma Legislature in 2025. Its mission includes promoting Oklahoma’s strengths in energy, defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing and offering online courses to familiarize Oklahoma businesses with the Taiwanese market.
Hsiao noted that the U.S. has become Taiwan’s top overseas investment destination, with Taiwan now ranked as the U.S.’s fourth-largest trading partner. State Representative Daniel Pae highlighted the office’s potential to create new opportunities for investment, innovation, and job growth.
