Megan Lorraine Debin is a professor of art history at Fullerton College and the creator of Art Trippin’, a platform launched in 2023 to make art history more accessible through travel videos, online lectures, and guided tours.
Discovery of Passion for Teaching
Megan discovered her passion for art history during her studies abroad in Bologna, Italy. Inspired by her professor, Vera Fortunati, who emphasized learning through firsthand experiences, Megan aspired to open the world of art to her students.
Origin of Art Trippin’
Art Trippin’ originated from Megan’s extensive travels and the engaging stories she shared with her students. Encouraged by their suggestions, she decided to create videos that allow them to experience art alongside her.
Focus on Underrepresented Artists
Megan highlights underrepresented artists to address historical gaps in art education, sharing stories of artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, who were celebrated in their time but later overlooked. Her goal is to broaden the narratives of art history to include diverse voices that often go unrecognized.
