NZ Muscle is recalling certain batches of its products due to potential undeclared allergens. The recall affects:
- NZ Muscle Creatine (unflavoured) – Best Before date: JUN 27
- No Brand Creatine Monohydrate – Best Before date: JUN 27
These products come in 200g, 500g, and 1kg containers and are sold at various retailers and online.
The concern arises because the labels do not warn consumers about the presence of milk, which is a significant allergen for some individuals. This recall follows complaints received on social media regarding food safety standards, prompting an investigation by NZ Food Safety.
Consumers with milk allergies are advised to return the affected products for a refund or to discard them. The products have already been removed from store shelves, although a small quantity was exported to Australia as personal imports.
As of now, New Zealand Food Safety has not reported any allergic reactions linked to these products. For health concerns related to consumption, individuals are urged to consult a health professional or contact Healthline at 0800 611 116.
