A motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a collision at a busy downtown Salt Lake City intersection on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of 400 South and West Temple, near the federal courthouse.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, and authorities have not yet identified them. Two occupants from the vehicle involved in the crash were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while a third vehicle was also hit, but no injuries were reported from that car.
After the collision, debris was scattered across the intersection, prompting diversions for afternoon commuters. The intersection was reopened just after 6 p.m.
This incident marks the second fatal motorcycle crash in Salt Lake County within three days, following another fatality involving a motorcyclist and two vehicles on Interstate 15 in Draper over the weekend.
