Young Thug is reflecting on the tragic loss of Rich Homie Quan, who passed away in September 2024. In an emotional Instagram Story, he shared a clip from their collaboration “Tell Em” (2014), expressing regret over their fractured relationship. Thugger reminisced, captioning the post: “Never switched on u brada always road with u what happened [crying emoji].”
The two artists achieved significant success together, including the hit “Lifestyle,” which peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, their friendship soured in 2015, following public feuds and a lack of communication. Although they didn’t speak regularly, Thugger has stated, “We don’t got no bad blood, but we don’t talk.”
Quan’s death, ruled an accidental drug overdose, sparked Thug’s regrets about not reconciling beforehand. He expressed sorrow during a livestream in October, wishing they could have made amends. Amidst personal grief, Thug continues to thrive in his music career, recently being recognized in The New York Times’ list of 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters.
