Milestone in Kosher Dining: Mutra Earns Michelin Star
Kosher dining has reached a historic milestone in North Miami with Mutra, a Middle Eastern restaurant owned by chef Raz Shabtai. It has become the first kosher establishment to earn a Michelin star. In an interview, Shabtai expressed his gratitude, stating, “I feel extremely honored and blessed that God gave me the ability to do something that I can combine cultures together. It doesn’t matter your political views or your religion. Food is holy.”
Mutra is known for its “farm-to-table” ethos, frequently updating its menu every three months. As highlighted by Ynet News, the restaurant is described as an intimate space where Shabtai draws culinary inspiration from his memories of Jerusalem. The restaurant is named in honor of his Israeli grandmother, who played a significant role in shaping both his cooking and character.
