Recall of Superfood Supplements Due to Salmonella Risk
Gray News – Two brands of superfood supplements are being recalled due to potential contamination with salmonella.
Products Affected:
- TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood
- Doctor’s Pride Complete Green Superfood Ultra Potent Moringa Capsules
These products, containing moringa, are being recalled by Total Nutrition Inc. The supplements were sold online through various platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and TikTok.
Packaging:
- The impacted supplements are sold in white bottles with white caps containing 120 capsules.
- Identification can be made through the lot numbers and expiration dates on the packaging.
The FDA indicated that these supplements may be connected to an ongoing investigation into a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to dietary supplements containing imported moringa leaf powder. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there have been 119 reported illnesses, with 32 hospitalizations related to this outbreak.
Advice for Consumers:
- Anyone who possesses the recalled supplements should dispose of them immediately.
