Philadelphia Unveils Nation’s First Airport Halal and Kosher Food Market

Philadelphia International Airport has recently introduced a groundbreaking food option that is the first of its kind in the United States.

PKS Kosher Market stands out as the nation’s first dedicated kosher and halal food outlet in a U.S. airport. Nestled in Terminal A-West, this grab-and-go establishment welcomes travelers daily from 5:15 a.m. to 11 p.m., offering a variety of packaged meals, snacks, candies, and beverages.

The concept of PKS Kosher Market is brought to life by Prime Kosher Sports, a well-known food operator that already serves patrons at notable venues like New York’s Barclays Center, Citi Field, and Yankee Stadium. They also have spots in the Prudential Center in Newark and the U.S. Open tennis center in Queens.

“PKS Kosher Market is designed to meet the clear demand for kosher and halal foods in airports,” shared Allan Bailey, president of PKS Airport. “It’s been a journey to get here, but we are very excited to get this venture off the ground.”

Travelers can look forward to a selection of delicious items including turkey sandwiches on pretzel buns, falafel plates, grilled chicken Caesar wraps, bagels, fresh salads, and kosher-certified candies. PKS Market is committed to catering to a diverse audience, offering gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices alongside its kosher and halal offerings.

MarketPlace PHL, the entity responsible for managing the airport’s dining and shopping options, has been enhancing the food scene in recent years. Popular establishments like Middle Child, Insomnia Cookies, Federal Donuts & Chicken, and Oyster House have all opened outlets in 2025, part of the “Founded in Philly” initiative. The airport is undergoing significant changes and upgrades in anticipation of the tourism surge expected from the World Cup and the nation’s semiquincentennial celebrations.
