AI Skills Boost Singapore Software Engineers’ Salaries by 25%

In today’s fast-paced job market, possessing AI skills has become a significant factor in salary negotiations for software engineers in Singapore. A recent salary report by NodeFlair reveals that engineers with these skills are earning 13 to 25 percent more than their counterparts without AI expertise.
The Singapore-based tech talent platform gathered these insights from over 230,000 verified data points. Notably, the demand for AI skills has led to a substantial pay premium across various experience levels for software engineers.

This marks a significant change from 2024, when the increasing need for AI expertise had not yet been reflected in higher salaries.

The report highlights that salary growth varies significantly with seniority, demonstrating a greater demand for seasoned professionals. For instance, salaries for senior, lead, and managerial roles have increased by over 10 percent, while junior engineers saw a rise of 5.3 percent, and mid-level engineers experienced just a 1.7 percent increase.

Additionally, the report identifies growing disparities within the workforce, revealing that the top 10 percent of engineers are experiencing salary increases of up to 19 percent.
