Microsoft has launched Visual Studio Code version 1.114, bringing exciting enhancements to its widely popular code editor. This latest update is designed to enrich the AI chat experience, featuring new capabilities such as video previews in the image carousel for chat attachments, a convenient Copy Final Response command in the chat context menu, simplified semantic searches within codebases via GitHub Copilot, and more.

In this update, the image carousel—first introduced in version 1.113—has been enhanced to support video playback. Developers can now easily play and navigate videos from chat attachments or the Explorer context menu. The viewer includes intuitive controls for both images and videos, allowing users to navigate through content using arrows or thumbnails. Additionally, the new Copy Final Response command in the chat context menu enables users to copy the last Markdown section of the agent’s response, which is handy after tool calls have been executed.
These updates not only improve user interaction but also streamline workflows, making coding and collaboration even more efficient.
