Join the Fitness Challenge for a Cause: Supporting the Ross Park Zoo
In Endicott, NY, fitness enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to unleash their competitive spirit while benefiting a local treasure—the Ross Park Zoo. This Sunday, The Fitness Range is hosting its annual fitness challenge, and participants can look forward to an exciting day that supports community well-being.
The Fitness Range is committed to helping various organizations in the Tri-cities area, and this year’s event will direct all proceeds to support the Ross Park Zoo. Owner and CEO Rob Burdick emphasizes the importance of community support, stating, “It’s a great organization. Many zoos across the country are struggling financially, and we have a remarkable zoo right here in our community. Anything we can do to help them is worthwhile.”
Participants in “The Ross Park Zoo Challenge” can challenge themselves with exercises like burpees, sit-ups, plank-ups, or push-ups, with the goal of completing as many reps as possible in one minute. For each completed rep, sponsors will donate one dollar to the zoo. Additionally, sponsors can opt for flat donations to further support the cause.
Now in its sixth year, this fundraiser continues to bring the community together for a noble cause. Burdick highlights the significance of giving back, noting that “there are so many issues in the world, and it’s easy to become absorbed in our own lives. Participating in events like this reminds us of the importance of supporting one another.”
First-time participant Maureen “Kix” Hamilton is excited to join the challenge. Having fond memories of visiting the zoo since childhood, she expresses her enthusiasm: “It’s a great opportunity to help. Everyone in this area has a connection to the Ross Park Zoo, and anything we can do to support them is a no-brainer. I’m all in!”
The fitness challenge will take place on April 12th at The Fitness Range in Endicott. If you’re interested in participating or sponsoring a participant, you can find more information by reaching out to The Fitness Range here.
