Unveiling New Dimensions in Fitness: Niche Pilates Studio Expands with Strength Training Space
In the ever-evolving world of fitness, finding the right environment to achieve your goals is essential. Many individuals prefer a personal touch, where they can feel comfortable and motivated. A local fitness studio, Niche Pilates, is stepping up to meet this demand by launching a new strength training space right next door to its existing Pilates studio.
The new strength training studio, also branded under Niche Pilates Studio, is located at 1431 W. Main St., directly adjacent to the original Pilates space at 1435 W. Main St. This expansive facility spans 2,700 square feet and is designed for those looking to engage in weightlifting, cardio, and overall strength training in an inviting environment that feels less intimidating than a conventional gym.
Jaclyn Forrester, the founder and owner of Niche Pilates Studio, anticipates opening the doors this summer, having secured the lease for the new space last month. With a background in fitness that dates back to 2007, Forrester has gained experience as a yoga and Pilates instructor and personal trainer, after obtaining her degree in exercise science from Radford University.
Having originally opened Niche Pilates in a modest 300-square-foot downtown space in 2017, Forrester eventually transitioned to a larger location to accommodate growing demand. The studio currently operates out of a spacious 3,500-square-foot facility on Main Street, which can host up to 16 participants per session across various Pilates formats including mat classes, reformer sessions, and tower Pilates.
Forrester’s vision for the new strength training space has long been a dream of hers. “Fitness has always been my passion, and finally, with this new location, I can seamlessly blend Pilates with strength training, creating a comprehensive fitness experience,” she noted.
The new facility will feature a dedicated strength training area, equipped with cable machines, TRX bands, cardio equipment, benches, and dumbbells. Group classes and personalized training sessions will be available, promoting a holistic approach to fitness. Furthermore, clients can purchase packages to allow them to work out independently using Niche’s instructional videos or their own routines, fostering a sense of autonomy in their training.
Forrester explained that specific time slots will be dedicated for clients to access only the strength or cardio areas, ensuring each participant has enough personal space during workouts. Pricing for the strength classes mirrors that of Niche’s Pilates offerings, starting with group classes at $22 each and private sessions beginning at $100. Memberships range from $80 to $336 per month based on attendance preferences.
Even with many gym options available in the Richmond area, Forrester believes Niche can provide a more refined and intimate training experience. “Our clients appreciate a polished and clean atmosphere, and they enjoy the sense of community that our studio embodies,” she shared, underscoring her commitment to creating a welcoming environment.
Niche Pilates Studio currently employs 24 part-time and full-time staff members, with plans to recruit two to three additional strength training instructors for the new space.
In conclusion, Niche Pilates Studio is setting a new bar in the fitness industry by combining strength training with Pilates in a unique setting. This expansion not only broadens the fitness offerings but also strengthens the sense of community that keeps clients returning. For those looking for a more intimate fitness environment, Niche Pilates Studio is well worth exploring.
