Google is introducing a memory import feature for its Gemini platform, simplifying the transition for users migrating from other AI services. This new capability allows users to bring in memories, context, and chat histories from different AI applications.
By importing memories, Gemini will gain insights into users’ preferences, relationships, and personal contexts. According to Google, users will not need to start from square one, as Gemini can recognize key facts shared previously with other applications.
To utilize the import feature, users can navigate to the Gemini settings, where they will find a prompt that guides them on copying and pasting information from their current AI application. This prompt will request the AI to generate a summary of user preferences, which can then be easily integrated into Gemini.
Additionally, Google enables users to import their entire chat history in a ZIP format, allowing them to search through previous conversations and expand upon them using Gemini.
