Grand Traverse County Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured
A tragic single-vehicle crash occurred this morning in Peninsula Township, resulting in the death of one passenger and injuries to the driver.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place around 8 a.m. on Center Road, south of McKinley Road. The vehicle was traveling south when it veered off the road and collided with a tree.
Emergency responders declared the passenger dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to Munson Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Center Road was closed for approximately six hours to allow investigators to process the crash site. Authorities suspect that alcohol and speeding may have contributed to the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
