Smartlog is set to implement Oman’s first AutoStore system for the Saud Bahwan Group, a prominent automotive spare parts distributor. This project aims to enhance storage capacity, improve traceability, and support future growth with an automated storage and order fulfillment operation.
The AutoStore system features high-density bin storage, utilizing robots to retrieve bins and deliver them directly to workstations, which minimizes the need for manual travel within the warehouse. The setup includes CarouselPorts and ConveyorPorts, all featuring advanced technology to optimize inbound and outbound processes. A sophisticated Warehouse Management System (Galys WMS and Galys Monitor) will oversee real-time operations.
Saud Bahwan Group needs a flexible operation to manage a diverse range of automotive parts and respond swiftly to urgent requirements. The new AutoStore solution will efficiently handle different order profiles using high-density storage and goods-to-person picking.
Additionally, the operation will employ Pick-to-Light technology, allowing staff to process multiple orders simultaneously and prioritize urgent requests as needed. Inbound goods will be sorted into trolleys before being integrated into the system, enhancing storage efficiency.
