Meta has introduced AI agents to streamline the setup and management of WhatsApp Business messaging. This new feature allows businesses to work directly with AI tools, making the process more efficient compared to the previous method, which required navigating multiple platforms.
With the launch of the WhatsApp Business Tools MCP server, developers can now instruct chosen AI agents like Claude or ChatGPT to handle various tasks related to WhatsApp, such as account creation, phone number verification, and accessing the Cloud API.
Additionally, businesses can utilize AI for tasks like creating or editing messaging templates, testing messages, and monitoring terms of service compliance. During setup, another MCP server, Meta Social Technologies MCP, can assist with API endpoint discovery and troubleshooting.
This move marks an expansion in Meta’s offerings, joining several other tech companies in providing secure AI agent interactions.
