Asian Olympic Council Celebrates Asian Games Success Despite Logistical Challenges

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games were hailed as a success by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), citing a nearly 20% revenue increase, strong viewership, and numerous world records. Despite challenges like cramped accommodations for the record 17,000 participants, OCA officials highlighted the event’s achievements, including 54 world records and a focus on sustainability and financial viability. Amid geopolitical tensions, the Games fostered unity through sport, with positive feedback on digital growth and viewership, particularly during high-stakes matches like hockey and cricket. OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam and Games Coordination Committee chairman Tayyab Ikram acknowledged logistical issues but emphasized collaboration for future improvements.
