Born on June 25, 1949, Padhy began his journey into competitive running later in life, only taking it up after retirement at 66 years old. His inaugural race was the Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Half Marathon in February 2016, an experience he describes as transformative. “I never imagined that one race would define my post-retirement life. I started slowly, listened to my body, and maintained discipline,” he notes.
In less than a decade, Padhy has completed 135 racing events spanning 24 states, achieving 42 podium finishes along the way.
