Florida mother taken into custody at airport for leaving four children unattended at home while on business trip to Las Vegas, according to authorities.

A Florida mother, Irene Miller, 50, faces multiple child neglect charges after allegedly leaving her four children—ages 14, 12, 11, and 9—home alone for several days while she traveled to Las Vegas for work. The situation escalated when a 911 call from one of the children reported that the 9-year-old was injured by a falling dumbbell.

Upon arrival, deputies found no adults present. Miller, who left on October 18, indicated that a babysitter was scheduled to help in the mornings but was not required to stay overnight. The injured child was treated at Celebration Hospital and later released. Authorities arranged to meet Miller at Orlando International Airport upon her return on October 23, where she was arrested and charged with four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.
