Meet Simon, the adventurous cat who has captured hearts online as a “backpacking kitty.” Simon and his owner, JJ Yosh, have traveled the world together, with Simon often accompanying Yosh on hikes, whether he’s nestled in his backpack or exploring the trail.
Yosh initially took Simon in when his landlord planned to put him down, and instead of changing his lifestyle, he adjusted to include Simon. From boulders at home in Boulder, Colorado, to the breathtaking landscapes of Austria and volcanoes in Guatemala, Simon’s adventures have been abundant.
Whether he’s climbing in their backyard or poised for future excursions, including a potential trip to Mount Everest (though only to base camp), Simon’s journey has inspired many. He showcases how a pet can join in on outdoor adventures, all while staying safe and happy.
With a strong presence on social media, particularly through his YouTube channel “Out There,” Simon’s escapades continue to grow, much to the delight of his followers.
