Stone Mountain Village Launches New Entertainment District – The Champion Newspaper | 404-373-7779

Stone Mountain Village is enhancing its appeal to visitors by establishing a downtown entertainment district. This new district allows patrons to take alcoholic beverages beyond the establishments that sold them, aimed at boosting local businesses and increasing pedestrian traffic.

The village, located near the world’s largest granite monolith, offers a diverse range of activities, including live music, craft beverages, local dining, and historical sites. Mayor Jelani Linder highlighted that this entertainment district’s purpose is to attract both residents and tourists to experience the charm of Stone Mountain.

Set to operate from 11 a.m. to midnight, the district will feature around a dozen participating restaurants and venues. Beverages must be in clear, disposable containers with city-approved stickers to maintain safety. Merchants need valid alcohol licenses and city approvals to operate within the district.

This initiative aligns with similar entertainment districts nationally and internationally, known for stimulating local economies and enriching the cultural fabric of a city. Local business owners, like Karen Patton of The Sweet Potato, are optimistic about the benefits this district will bring.
