The Bonita animal shelter will permanently close on October 15 and relocate to a new facility in Santee. To ease the transition and minimize stress on the animals, the public is encouraged to foster or adopt pets during this period.
The new Santee location features upgraded medical facilities, modern kennels designed to reduce stress, and spaces that enhance enrichment and socialization for better animal care.
The new shelter address is 452 Riverview Parkway, Santee, CA 92071, and it will serve residents of the County’s unincorporated areas. While operations move to Santee, field services, licensing, and community support for residents near Bonita will continue without interruption.
