Vietnam’s Bee Entertainment Unveils Genre-Forward Slate at Busan’s ACFM
Vietnam’s Bee Entertainment is showcasing a robust lineup of films, including the psychological horror Arithmetic, set against the backdrop of an elite international school, at the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan.
In 2025, Vietnamese films earned over VND 3 trillion ($114 million) domestically, surpassing international titles for the first time. Bee aims to leverage this success for international expansion.
Their slate, set for releases in 2027, features four films and three long-form TV dramas. Bee Entertainment is actively seeking partners for investment, co-development, distribution, and rights licensing.
Arithmetic, also known as Cong Tru Nhan Chia, stars Anh Thu and Lam Thanh My. The film features a Dark Academia aesthetic and follows a transfer student’s mysterious connection with a teacher amid a series of supernatural events disrupting the school’s façade. Directed by Irving Ly, the film is set to premiere in January 2027.
Three additional films will debut in 2027: The Step-Mother, directed by Tran Nhan Kien, examines a boy’s evolving relationship with his stepmother; How to Find a Fortune in 60 Days by Pom Nguyen blends action, comedy, and family drama; and Dealing With a Ghost, a horror romantic comedy by Le Ha Nguyen, is set for a fourth-quarter release.
On the series front, The Unrecognized Heir, an 80-episode family drama, has amassed over a billion views since its December 2025 debut. Upcoming projects include A Deal With God and Destined to Find You, both blending drama with comedy and romance.
Bee Entertainment, a subsidiary of Bee Comm, has been a key player in the Vietnamese entertainment industry since its founding in 2009. The ACFM continues through October, with the Busan International Film Festival concluding on October 15.
