Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program Applications Now Open

Wisconsin residents can now apply for assistance with their heating and electric bills this winter. The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) has begun accepting applications for the 2026-2027 heating season, offering low-income families and individuals critical support to maintain warmth and power during colder months.
To qualify for WHEAP, applicants must meet specific income guidelines based on household size. If approved, assistance will be available for heating and electric bills from October through May of the following year.
Residents in Sheboygan County who are eligible can call Energy Services, Inc. at 920-287-7800 to apply. Additionally, applications for WHEAP benefits can be submitted online at EnergyBenefit.Wi.gov.
