La Jolla Art & Wine Festival Features Local Artist Rebecca Robb
The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival, taking place from October 10-11, will showcase art from Chula Vista alongside talented artists from across the U.S. and Mexico. Among the more than 170 juried artists participating is local oil painter Rebecca Robb, known for her diverse works that encompass seascapes, landscapes, animals, and portraits.
Rebecca Robb’s Artistic Journey
Robb’s artistic path has been shaped by a childhood spent in various parts of South America. Born in Brazil to American expatriates, she was immersed in the stunning landscapes of Brazil’s beaches, Peru’s deserts and jungles, and the Andes Mountains in Chile. This rich cultural backdrop has influenced her work, as she explains,
“Growing up without one hometown gave me an unusually expansive sense of what home means to me.”
Her experiences have cultivated a deep appreciation for nature, which continues to be a source of inspiration in her paintings.
Capturing Emotions Through Art
Robb’s artistic vision goes beyond mere representation. She focuses on capturing and translating feelings rather than just duplicating what she sees.
