The Bonita animal shelter is set to permanently close on October 15, relocating all operations to a new facility in Santee. To ease the transition for the animals, the public is encouraged to foster or adopt pets before the move.
The new shelter boasts upgraded medical areas, modern kennels designed to minimize stress, and spaces that enhance animal enrichment and socialization. It is located at 452 Riverview Parkway, Santee, CA 92071.
While the main operations will shift to Santee, services such as field support, licensing, and community assistance will still be available for residents in the unincorporated areas near Bonita.
