La Crosse Center Holds Event for Releasing Unwanted Exotic Pets

The La Crosse Center recently provided a safe option for residents to surrender unwanted exotic pets, including birds and snakes, through an event organized by J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. This initiative aims to prevent the release of these animals into the wild, which can disrupt local ecosystems. According to John Moyles, the director of J&R, while people are aware that they can take dogs or cats to humane societies, there are limited resources for exotic pets. Animals surrendered at the event will be available for adoption on the rescue’s website.
