Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, but that doesn’t change much for trick-or-treating in Lancaster County. Residents can expect to trick-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, regardless of weather conditions.
In 2022, the Lancaster Inter-Municipal Committee (LIMC) established that trick-or-treating would occur on October 31 annually, even if Halloween falls on a weekend. Previously, trick-or-treating might have been scheduled for a different date on a Saturday or Sunday.
While the LIMC offers guidance for trick-or-treating schedules, it does not have the authority to enforce them legally. Therefore, municipalities have the option to set different dates if they choose.
The LIMC includes various local governments representing around 30% of the county’s population.
If you notice variations in your local trick-or-treating times or dates, you can report them via email for updates to the article.
