Rochester, N.Y. — A Victor football player is merging his love for football with his commitment to community service. Caden Renkert has spent the last six months volunteering at the Victor Farmington Food Cupboard with his grandfather.
To honor Caden’s dedication, the Food Cupboard sponsored Senior Night for his football team. During the event, his grandfather, Steve Croop, shared the significance of this experience: “There’s no better feeling. We’ve supported him in football since sixth grade, and to see him choose to volunteer with me at the Food Cupboard is indescribable.”
Sean Marie Crittenden, co-director of the Food Cupboard, emphasized the vital role of volunteers in sustaining their efforts, which serve over 800 people monthly. As the holiday season approaches, the demand for assistance is expected to rise.
