Spotify has renewed its deal with Joe Rogan, the host of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the platform’s most popular podcast, boasting 18 million followers. Although the financial terms of the multiyear licensing agreement haven’t been disclosed, reports suggest it may be worth around $250 million. Rogan expressed excitement about continuing the partnership, which initially began in 2020 with a deal rumored to be valued at $100 million.
The collaboration has significantly bolstered Spotify’s podcasting presence. In 2024, the deal was expanded to allow distribution on other platforms. While the podcast remains extremely successful, it has also faced controversy, including a boycott led by Neil Young over misinformation related to COVID-19 and past criticisms of Rogan’s use of racial slurs. Despite these issues, Spotify lauds Rogan’s lasting impact on its audience.
