The Celebrity Traitors Episode 3 Recap
Spoiler Alert: This recap contains spoilers from the third episode of The Celebrity Traitors season two.
In this episode, viewers witnessed a stunning round table as Richard E Grant was dramatically banished following a wave of votes, marking the first time in the UK version that a traitor was identified at the first round table. Grant’s unusual strategy of admitting his traitor status to his fellow contestants did not pay off. His quip—“Thank you for giving me an almost bingo full-house of votes”—was met with jubilation from his peers, particularly from a visibly excited Ross Kemp.
The atmosphere turned electric as other celebrities reacted; comedian Joanne McNally humorously expressed her disbelief, stating, “I completely believed him!” However, the excitement also brought about suspicion regarding the actions of other players at the table.
One particular moment was noted when Julie Hesmondhalgh pointed out Myha’la’s conspicuous wink at Grant before her vote, prompting an impassioned speech suggesting a “traitor-on-traitor” dynamic, which was, in fact, a misinterpretation.
The remaining traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, used the opportunity to recruit mathematician Hannah Fry, showcasing her amusing reaction upon learning she wouldn’t be eliminated. The trio humorously likened their shifting alliances to the well-known band, “It’s like the Sugababes,” quipped Acaster.
As the episode progressed, players deemed suspicious included Fry and Myha’la, leading to intense discussions that set the stage for the upcoming challenges. The next mission involved breaking into crypts with a battering ram, where players sought to gather money and shields for their prize pot.
Myha’la and Fry shared a moment of camaraderie in one of the crypts, although Jama and Rooney’s strategic moves raised alarms as they withheld shields to gain an advantage.
As rumors swirled in the cars transporting players back, tensions rose, especially between Myha’la and Hesmondhalgh, revealing a significant shift in their once amicable relationship. The second banishment left Myha’la in a vulnerable position, where she was ultimately voted out after an emotional plea.
The episode concluded with the traitors plotting their next move, with James Blunt becoming a target due to the inconvenience of sharing a name with Acaster.
