Dominion proposes Zeus power line for planned data center in Appomattox County.

Residents in Appomattox County are concerned about a proposed power transmission line related to a new data center, known as the Zeus Project. Thousands received notifications from Dominion Energy, prompting mixed reactions. One resident, Patricia Wagurak, nearly discarded the notice, mistaking it for junk mail.

Dominion reported that over 6,000 property owners were informed, and they plan a community input meeting on November 5 to discuss potential routes. Appomattox Mayor Richard Conner noted a shift toward data-centric jobs in the area, while Wagurak expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of public input in influencing the project’s outcome.

Dominion emphasizes that the project is in its early stages and requires state approval before any construction can proceed.
