In a recent interview with Esquire, actor Glen Powell shared his perspective on politics, emphasizing a desire to distance himself from political discourse. He expressed that the current political climate tends to be divisive, stating, “Over time, I realized that politics divide people… it’s the worst version of a conversation.” For Powell, engaging in politics seems less about civic duty and more like a conversation that could lead to awkwardness.
He reflected on how he longs for a time when political discussions were more civil, noting that politics “is not presently possible,” and while he admires those who engage in political activism, he feels his calling lies elsewhere.
Interestingly, despite his reluctance to dive into politics, Powell has made Texas his home and purchased properties for his family there, coinciding with major political developments in the state. Although he may have thoughts on the ongoing Senate race in Texas, he chooses to remain silent on those matters for now.
