Ed Dame Recognized as Host of the Day at The Big E
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Ed Dame of McHenry, Ill., was honored with the Host of the Day hospitality award at The Big E on September 29. The award was presented by ESE President and CEO Gene Cassidy, with distinguished guests including North American Midway Entertainment (NAME) Vice President Blake Huston and his wife, as well as other NAME staff and ESE leadership.
The Host of the Day award seeks to recognize outstanding members of The Big E community who exemplify exceptional customer service. Established in 1989, it highlights individuals who exceed expectations in their interactions with fairgoers.

With 25 years of experience in the amusement industry, Ed has been a key figure at NAME since its inception 21 years ago, overseeing transportation and guest services on the fair circuit. He collaborates closely with Gary Magyoran and Justin Peperak to ensure smooth operations at the Midway.
Dame expresses pride in his work, stating, “It takes all of us, and we have a tremendous team. I love working for the Hustons.” He is also heavily involved in supporting ESE, from managing Guest Services to assisting with various projects around the Fair.
In addition to his managerial duties, Ed coordinated special events, including Sammy L. Davis’s visit, and collaborated with sponsors to enhance programming for America 250.
Award recipients receive a trophy designed by Mike Pietruska and a commemorative gift bag from The Big E’s Official Merchandise Booth. All Hosts of the Day, including Dame, will participate in The Big Parade at 6 PM on the final day of the Fair on October 4.
