Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Marquette recently hosted its annual “Blessing of Pets” event, celebrating over two decades of this cherished tradition around the Feast Day of St. Francis. St. Francis, known for his love for animals, believed they too are creations of God, referring to them as his brothers and sisters.
Pastor Fr. Emmanuel Barwuah highlighted the significance of pets in our lives and how the blessing honors St. Francis. Donations collected during the service were directed to UPAWS, supporting animal welfare in the community.
