Google Joins Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta on Constellation’s Energy Roster

Google and Constellation Energy have announced a 20-year strategic clean energy collaboration aimed at adding nearly 900 megawatts of nuclear capacity to the PJM Interconnection grid. This grid spans the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Midwest, serving major cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Constellation’s stock surged 12.2% following the announcement, trading at $300.40. This increase is notable, given that just a month prior, the stock was around $254. Google’s stock remained flat on the same day.
The 20-year agreement involves investments in new equipment and technology at 11 Constellation-owned nuclear units, sustaining about 4,400 existing jobs and creating approximately 7,200 new construction jobs during the build-out phase. In total, Constellation plans to invest about $4.3 billion in new projects.

Additionally, Google plans to enhance its collaboration with Constellation through Google Cloud and Gemini Enterprise, launching an expanded five-year technology alliance. The goal is to create an “AI for energy blueprint” that will optimize asset dispatch, improve performance, and protect critical infrastructure.
Google is not the only tech giant aligned with Constellation. They also have long-term agreements with Microsoft for the Three Mile Island project, a 20-year power purchase agreement with Amazon/AWS, and a 20-year virtual PPA with Meta for 1,121 MW of power.
Constellation is solidifying its position as a long-term energy partner to some of the world’s leading technology companies, making it a significant player in the energy sector.
