Upcoming Pet Vaccine Clinics in Ponderay
Ponderay’s Better Together Animal Alliance (BTAA) has announced additional pet vaccine clinics this fall, despite the upcoming one on Oct. 17 being fully booked. These clinics offer free vaccines as part of Petco Love’s initiative, Vaccinated and Loved.
About the Initiative
Petco Love, a national nonprofit, has provided over four million free pet vaccines through its partnership with animal welfare groups like BTAA, making healthcare accessible for pets in need. The aim is to combat preventable diseases by ensuring that all pets receive necessary vaccinations.
Key Vaccines Offered
The clinics will administer crucial vaccines, including:
- DAPPv Canine vaccine for dogs
- HCP Feline vaccine for cats
Preventable diseases like parvovirus, distemper, and panleukopenia are the focus, as surveys show many pets are not up to date with their vaccinations.
Community Impact
BTAA emphasizes the significance of accessible healthcare. According to Sarah Berry, BTAA’s director of operations, removing barriers allows more pets to receive protection, benefiting the entire community. Community vaccine clinics pave the way for families to establish ongoing veterinary care, particularly for those facing financial challenges.
Chelsea Staley, President of Petco Love, highlights that these clinics often serve as a family’s first point of contact for veterinary guidance, laying the foundation for a lifetime of care.
