Xbox and IKEA Team Up with YXSTABY Gaming Furniture Collection
Gaming furniture isn’t a novel idea—many PC gamers opt for chairs designed for long sessions, while some choose hybrid desks to suit their gaming style. Yet, the collaboration between Xbox and IKEA, announced on October 1, 2026, with the launch of the YXSTABY collection, is certainly a fresh twist.
The YXSTABY Collection
The YXSTABY line introduces nine unique pieces aimed at enhancing gaming comfort and performance. Philip Dilé, IKEA Product Developer, stated, “At IKEA, we believe gaming deserves a place in the home that feels just as thoughtful, comfortable and personal as any other everyday activity.”
Highlights of the collection include:
- Thumb Stick Stool: Available in Xbox green and black.
- D-Pad Cushions: Complementing the gaming lounge chair.
- Gaming Display Box: For storing controllers, offered in black and white.
- TV Stand on Castors: A mobile solution for your gaming setup.
- Gaming Monitor Stand: A minimalist design for your display.
- Laptop Support with Storage: Combining function and style.
Reception Among Gamers
The reaction has been mixed. Some users on platforms like Reddit expressed excitement, noting the appeal of specific pieces like the TV stand and D-pad bowl. However, others found the overall offering lacking in uniqueness. Criticism was directed at the design of items like the D-pad stool, which some felt appeared uncomfortable.
While the YXSTABY collection may not revolutionize gaming furniture, it reflects a growing trend of integrating gaming into everyday living spaces—a nod to the increasing importance of gaming in modern lifestyles.
