Operation Foster: Supporting Firefighters and Their Pets
In the demanding line of duty that firefighters face, particularly during wildfires, there’s an often-ignored challenge: ensuring the well-being of their pets while they’re away for extended periods.
The Initiative
Operation Foster addresses this important need by linking firefighters with volunteers who can offer temporary homes for their pets during deployments. This initiative not only provides peace of mind for firefighters but also ensures that animals are cared for in a loving environment.
A Call for Help
Jody McGovern has been actively involved with the organization and shares stories about the pets, including a dog currently in need of a temporary home.
