Sylas’s Story: From Patient to Ambassador

At 13, Sylas experienced a severe biking accident requiring urgent medical attention. Thanks to the Hospital Transportation Program, he and his family were able to travel to BC Children’s Hospital for treatment without the added stress of travel costs.

Quote from Jen, Sylas’s Mom: “These flights were such a godsend for us… It meant I could show up for Sylas without worrying.”

Today, Sylas, now 15, is thriving, participating as the 2026 Air Canada Foundation National Hospital Transportation Program Ambassador.

About the Program

The Air Canada Foundation’s Hospital Transportation Program has helped children for over 20 years, removing financial burdens for families needing specialized medical care that is distant from their homes. Each year, millions of donated Aeroplan points support families, ensuring distance never hinders access to medical care.
