The GW Tabletop Gaming Society is a vibrant community where students gather weekly to immerse themselves in board and card games. Founded in 2014, the society meets every Saturday in a District House basement, creating a laid-back environment for bonding over shared interests in fantasy and strategy games.
During meetings, various tables are set up for different game types, including popular choices like Magic: The Gathering, Coup, and Clank. Members express their enthusiasm by strategizing their moves and engaging in friendly competition. Participants appreciate the opportunity to connect with peers and develop their gaming skills in a supportive atmosphere.
Andrew Wu, the society’s secretary, shared that the organization maximizes communication through a dedicated Discord server, allowing members to stay informed about events and game nights. For many, including Lillian Trokel, the society serves as a space to continue their lifelong passion for gaming.
The society occasionally hosts special events like mega game nights for longer games and maintains a casual vibe without competitive pressure. This blend of social interaction and strategic thinking makes the GW Tabletop Gaming Society a welcoming space for gamers of all backgrounds.
