Millennium to Recruit Jera Power Trader for Energy Expansion in Japan

Millennium Management is expanding its energy trading operations in Japan by hiring Matthias Soreau, who previously led power trading at Jera Global Markets. This move is part of the hedge fund’s strategy to enhance its presence in Japan’s growing energy sector, which has attracted increased interest since market liberalization about a decade ago. Soreau is expected to join the Tokyo team soon, helping to develop the power business. Millennium has also been actively recruiting other talent from Japanese financial firms as competition for skilled traders intensifies in Tokyo.
