George Santos Urges Voters to Be ‘More Discerning’ in Their Choices

Former Representative George Santos has urged voters to be “more selective” in the upcoming contentious midterm elections. Reflecting on his experience, he commented on the abundance of “great candidates for reality TV” entering politics, suggesting they might be better suited for television than Washington.

Santos, who was expelled from Congress in December 2023 due to serious ethical violations, including campaign fund misuse and lying about his background, noted his 87-month prison sentence was later commuted by President Donald Trump in October 2025. After a brief stint in prison, Santos participated in Season 5 of FOX’s reality show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

He described the tough challenges of the show, claiming it was even harder than prison, stating, “This challenges you … [but] this really demands …”. In his interview, he also suggested Marjorie Taylor Greene would be an interesting addition to a future season, emphasizing the dynamics of reality TV and politics.

Despite the controversies surrounding his political career, Santos expressed gratitude for the positive reception he received while on the show, which aired on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. He revealed how the experience allowed him to show his authentic self, stating it was “humbling” to gain support outside of the headlines that often followed him.
