Global Pet Blessing: Philippines Edition

The Malate Church in Manila recently celebrated the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi by blessing animals, highlighting the patron saint’s dedication to nature and all creatures. On October 4, participants brought various pets—including dogs, cats, and even a snail—to receive blessings from Father Leonito Distor. This event reflects the deep appreciation pet owners have for their animals. In addition to the blessings, the church offered free pet vaccinations in the parking lot, enhancing the community spirit of the occasion.
