Bulldogs Perogi and Ravioli Fundraise for Pet Medical Care at Wilson Football Game | Berks Regional News

Fundraiser for Bulldogs in Need

WEST LAWN, Pa. – Friday nights at John Gurksi Stadium typically spotlight the Wilson Bulldogs, but this week, an adorable 10-week-old bulldog named Pierogi captured the crowd’s heart.

Lakin Minnich, President of Zoe’s House Rescue, introduced Pierogi, who, along with his French bulldog sister Ravioli, faces significant medical challenges. Both pups were rescued from commercial breeders and diagnosed with congenital heart defects requiring costly treatments—up to $3,000 each, excluding potential surgeries that could add another $10,000.

To address these needs, the community has united to help raise funds. “We’re bulldogs helping bulldogs,” said Minnich, emphasizing the importance of local support.

Visitors at the game had the chance to donate and receive thank-you gifts from Pierogi himself. Sierra Lowell, a tenth grader at Wilson High School, expressed her enthusiasm about participating in the cause.

In addition to local fundraising efforts, Poppy Ski’s will donate $5 for each package of pierogi sold online through October 14. Pierogi is also slated to make appearances, including Schaylor Brewing Company’s Pierogi Night on October 15.

Zoe’s House Rescue assures that all funds raised will give Pierogi and Ravioli a fighting chance at a healthier life.
